2 Corinthians 12:9 is a verse that reveals the paradox of God’s power and grace in our weakness. Paul, the apostle, had a thorn in the flesh, a painful affliction that he prayed to God to remove. But God answered him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This means that God’s favor and help are enough for us to endure any hardship or suffering, and that his strength is most clearly displayed when we are weak and dependent on him. Therefore, Paul decided to boast in his weaknesses, rather than complain about them, so that the power of Christ may rest upon him and work through him. He learned to delight in his troubles, because they brought him closer to God and made him more like Christ
