They always leave the extra lace on for two main reasons.

One is that if you need to add more hair to the unit it is possible to ventilate some and create your own custom hailine.

Second is that this lace will act as safety to the "edge" of the wig cause the edges take tension and if they cut it already by the time it arrives the ends might be kinda ruined, while this way when you cut the lace, you have a freshly cut edge and you can take the care your wig needs to keep it nice and smooth

Hi Joan,  Many thanks, now I know how to cut my new wig! :)  That was a lovely friendly but very useful presentation and I loved the small chat along the way.  I do hope your camera behaves itself a little better next time! ;)  I have a Canon Ixis a few years old now and have to press my start (record) button on the top half way down to focus each time.

Hi Joan, look beside your sd card. See if there is a little holder that has a watch battery. Replace that battery, mine was dining the same thing, a canon and that fixed it. Hugs. Cindy

Hi Marinda, I guess I don't know why some are pre-cut and some aren't. It's probably more expensive to pre-cut the lace. Did your mom like wearing wigs? I love them, never a bad hair day AND no styling either! My grandma and my mom wore wigs because of extreme thinning. I knew I would one day but never thought it would be so soon. If I ever make it to ATL you and I are hitting the hair stores! xoxo Joanzy

Great tips!
I've been having problems with my new camera too:( If the battery doesn't die, then the sd card is full. It seems like every time I do a video, it's one or the other that happens, lol! I miss my old camera, it was so easy to use.

I use a Canon too and I have the same struggle with it. I asked for a reason. The camera stopps recording because it is a camera not a camcorder. They regulate the recording just because of this reason. I hate it!

So it is interesting that wigs come with the lace needing to be trimmed. What is the reason for that? How come they aren't trimmed already? I am finding this whole wig series of your extremely interesting since I really know nothing about wigs. My mom lost her hair of shock after my brother's death and she used to wear wigs, but if I tell you they looked natural or good, I would certainly be lying. If my mom were still alive man, I would have bought her a different wig every week:)

OMG woman, if you a re planning on hitting hair stores, I hope you have comfy shoes, because there are at least one and even two hair stores on every fucking block. I got myself 3 more hair pieces. I guess I should do an update on those at some point. I hate Atlanta, but sure hair is one fucking thing that you will find in over abundance because of all the African-Americans living here. My mom didn't really like the wigs. Remember how ugly looking and stuffy the old wigs were and heavy too.
