:🌱In this video, we share with you how to Easily Grow Kale Microgreens with Kratky Hydroponics! This no soil system has been a favorite of ours. And today with the Hydroponic Kratky method we'll be growing vibrant Red Russian Kale Microgreens. If you're a busy bee or just prefer a hands-off approach to gardening, the Kratky method might just be your new best friend. No fancy equipment or constant monitoring after germination required – just set it and forget it!

✨️✨️ But what exactly is the Kratky method? Developed by Dr. Bernard A. Kratky at the University of Hawaii, this passive hydroponic technique involves suspending plants over a nutrient-filled water reservoir. No pumps or air stones needed here – it's gardening made easy! Unlike traditional hydroponic systems, the Kratky method is perfect for microgreens, thanks to their short growth cycle. With just 4 to 8 days of root suspension, you'll be harvesting nutrient-rich greens in no time.
In this tutorial, Mandi walks you through the entire process, from seedling to harvest, sharing her tips and tricks for success. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a newbie looking to green up your space, this video has something for everyone. ✨️✨️

Would it be possible for these black trays to have a humidity dome, just like the white trays? For less maintenance at the germination stage.

Thanks for the very knowledgeable content 💚

The length on these microgreens is amazing! Is there a difference in taste or quality as compared to the 1” bottom tray method?

I must say that this method looks easy and the greens look amazing. I bought a few resuable mats from you guys and failed miserably at my 1st attempt. During germination, my seeds rotted and smelled horrible. I will take another stab at it.

Have you tried lifting the silicone mat out and cutting as close as possible to the mat?

Maybe cutting roots off first to help the mat be as flat as possible.

Will this work with a BTF tray with holes? Or does it have to be the mesh version?

Have you tried the kratky method with the deep sprouting tray set (green)? I have done lots of kratky in different type setups but not with microgreens. Definitely need that inch of oxygen between the root and the water.

New subscriber here. I have been sprouting using the jar method. I always understood that sprouting seeds needs to be sanitized with vinegar or hydrogen peroxide before sprouting to prevent contamination from e-coli, salmonella and other food borne illnesses. I buy organic, non gmo sprouting seeds from The Sprout House on Amazon. I notice in your videos that you skip that step. Is it necessary to sanitize seeds before sprouting?

I'm looking for the cleaning instructions. I don't see a link...is it on the website, instead of a video? I am hoping to start microgreens at home soon. THANKS! ♥

Do you use any nutrient in the water you spray the seed with at the beginning or just straight water?

How is the canopy humidity level at harvest time with this method? Does the water in the resevoir tray add extra dampness?
