😢 Seeing the devil ape and black dover here have me feeling so nostalgic

How many days have passed like this ?
This city the crowd is fading, moving on...
I sometimes have wondered where you've gone
Story carries on, lonely, lost inside...

I had this dream so many times
The moments we spent has past and gone away
Could there be an end to this, what I'm feeling deep inside
You know there's no looking back...

Glassy Sky above,
As long as I'm alive,
You will be a part of me
Glassy Sky, the cold,
The broken pieces of me

The mystery of it I recall
Suddenly the truth would change the way we fall
I didn't wanna hurt you, hope you know
Empty promises, shattered dreams of love

Sometimes I wonder what's beyond
I tried many times to make it up to you
Can somebody tell me what to do ?
Thought we're meant to be... There's no going back

Time has already come...
Sun is gone and no more shadows...
Can't give up I know and this life goes on
I'll be strong I'll be strong 'til I see the end...

Glassy Sky above,
As long as I survive,
You will be part of me
Glassy Sky, the cold,
The broken pieces of me...
Glassy Sky above,
Covers over me... Over me...

rest in peace tokyo ghoul. i will never forget this amazing series in my life, read full manga n watched every ep

(dont care what others say, even if it failed, it was still amazing as people said season 1 was absolute masterpiece, thats how shows are supposed to be, it cant be amazing if it last too long and i would definitely hate it if it only had s1 and no more, it feels like to less)

Randomly I was suggested this video to rewatch by youtube. Frankly I don't care that much for Tokyo Ghoul (I've seen the first season like a decade ago) and I hadn't listened to this in years.
But holy shit this soundstrack is so much better than I remember. The lone piano with the reverb feels like gentle snow falling on a dark winter night. The hint of urgency throughout the track with little moments of freedom or uncertainty. And then the electric guitar and bass at the end as a surge of power. It's so emotional and cinematic in a way that I can feel it deeply in my soul.
I don't know how they do it, but those Asian composers always find a way to pull me so deep into their music and it's absolutely wonderful. And honestly I feel like the instrumental version shows that more than the one with singing.

I wrote a little something in my spare time while listening to this, hope you like it:
In this existence, whatever shall not bend is broken, my mind already long shattered and scattered across all of space, the winds and horizons beckoning me to retrieve it, but then I realized that it was just my imagination whispering wild tales into my ears. It wasn't my mind that was shattered, but my sanity that was disintegrated...

I have an incredible fear of this melody, 2 years ago I heard it for the first time, it gave me a feeling of loneliness and nostalgia but it also seemed beautiful to me, but when I started listening to it a few weeks later my grandfather died in an operating room due to a cancer, I stopped listening to the melody, but months later I started listening to it again and then my dad was diagnosed with cancer, another type of cancer, I stopped listening to it, months later I started listening to it again and a month later my dad died, It was so fast that I couldn't talk to him, this happened last year. Now I am afraid that this melody is cursed for me, I feel that if I listen to it, the family that I have left could die.

_If someone made you cry, you know they were playing you in the game of tears*, however close they may have seem up to that point, they've always been a stranger trying to hurt you.. The only way to win is to feel they're nothing to you, minimize their memories and emotional weight until they can't affect you anymore_ ..

Easily one of the greatest anime of all time. The series had us feeling how the characters felt throughout the series and through the experiences they went through. You only get an anime and manga like Tokyo Ghoul once in a blue moon and although I would like to have more, I believe it's perfect how it is and I wouldn't do anything to change it. Thank you Ishida Sui for bringing this masterpiece to the world.
