After watching one of your videos yesterday I have spent this morning journalling and talking to the part of me that wants to eat. Figured out it was a reward system from childhood, then I became estranged from my family, so now I use food to feel that same connection and that showing up for myself and speaking to that inner child is what it needs. Once I wrote down "I hear you, but this isn't love. This isn't truly what we want, we want to be healthy so we can enjoy a life full of love with our new found family of friends, and we are loved".

To which my inner overeater child responded "ok, I hear you, I understand you're looking out for me and that you truly have my best interests at heart. Thank you for taking care of me, for loving me enough to do this, no matter how hard that might be"

I binge when I'm overwhelmed with positive (like I want to appreciate myself with food) or negative emotions. So I would recommend myself to find again this inner balance, first of all.

I found asking myself what I value and what my values are considerably more helpful than anything else. Understanding my values is I’m finding key to better understanding how to approach the whole thing. Then again ADHD means I’m self medicating. Knowing my values though gives me an idea instead o the game plan which means less stress
