hello, can somebody explain to me why ax^n-1= a/1-x... where does this 1-x comes from?

if we keep the 5 outside and take a to be 1/9 and x as 1/9 the sum will be (1/9)/(1-1/9)==1/8 the multiply by 5 that equals 5/8 BOOM!

Sir actually instead of adding and subtracting directly we can take some of infinite series as 5 ( 1/9 +1/81 +1/729) = 5 *( a/(1-r) = 5*[ (1/9)/(1-(1/9)] = 5/8
