Gaming On MacBook Pro M1 Pro - MacOS Vs Windows 11 Via Parallels - Worth It?

Using Parallels you open your 2021 MacBook Pro to be able to use Windows 11 without the need for boot camp. It runs on a virtual machine and allows you to play many older games that run only on Windows.
In this video I explore what restrictions you have and what performance penalty you have vs gaming directly on MacOS.
Games tested: Shadow Of Mordor, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2, Thief, Batman Arkham City and Overwatch.

Nice video comparison! Interesting to see that vm are good only with old and hard to access games that are not on mac.

Hey Steve, need urgent help. Bought the 2021 Zephyrus S17 with i9 11900H, ran awesomely for a week with its cooling and overclocked it to the max with no problem thanks to liquid metal, until I flashed the most recent bios and it got bricked. The bios update ran upto 75% and then the screen went black. Rebooting just repeats the same cycle. Any idea on how to fix this, don't want to go through replacement etc due to chip shortages.

Intriguing results, Stephen. I'm half curious to see where the M1 Pro/Max fit performance wise with normal gaming laptops (for games that support MacOS). I've been more impressed with the MBP14 M1 than I was with the MBA M1 last year. Cheers, mate.

Very cool and informative video!! This isn´t definetely a gaming laptop, and this nails the fact for leaving these laptops for professional creators. But with this hardware potential, who knows where Apple will go next?

Man that small package SoC integrating a GPU equivalent of a 3060 is mind blowing ! Apple really did a outstanding job there !

Macs in general are very obviously for creators or light media browsing for people not super interested in real gaming. It's really a question of use case. Mac if your necessary programs are optimized for it and you're willing to pay a premium for the hardware, windows for literally everyone else including gamers.

Can I use something similar to play Cyberpunk on my ZX81? Only joking. I'm still using an Atari 400. 😢
