I didn't know about the ability to use links to other stuff in OneNote either. I need to start doing that. It might be too late to save my OneChaosNote though, lol. I've organized it so badly.

I use OneNote as a player, it's fantastic! Have you tried using the camera function to import a blank character sheet then writing on top of it with a pen on Microsoft's Surface devices? Feels like pen and paper 🙂

Google docs for me. Really awesome. Also google sheets but thats mainly for names

The best part of OneNote, is you never have to actually use it.

I've got to know Obsidian which is a note taking tool built around the Zettelkasten system. Essentially you make cards and link cards to others which creates a large web. It fully supports Markdown as well and totally free, synchronization as well

World anvil. Even the free version allows tons of world building
