I love how Thunderbolt 3 works on the AkiTio Duo Pro with the Z170X Gaming 7. However I also picked up a Gigabyte X99P SLI and am having a very hard time getting it to work. The driver installs but nothing shows up.Worse in the BIOS, it says the controller is Falcon Ridge and not Alpine Ridge. I'm running BIOS F21. Tried F20 also with no luck. Changed to F22 and F23 only to have the Thunderbolt option vanish in the new UEFI BIOS!! Any thoughts?

so how do we enable thunderbolt 3 on the GA-Z170X-UD5 non TH version, i would assume we would have to buy somekind of aftermarket pcie thunderbolt card plug it into an empty pcie lane and the thunderbolt plugin adapter on the motherboard.

a crippled tb3... real tb3 has to provide up to 100watt and 40gbit/s and not only 32 like he said in the video.
