I love the look of that mauve color with black and white. Personally, I would have painted the entire wall all the way to the door. I am not a fan of a seamed two-toned painted wall that ends at the cabinetry (unless you're painting graphics). Also, the mauve color is so perfectly light in tone it will look finished to have it above the cabinetry. You mentioned this was a south room, so fire element according to Feng Shui is ideal in this room and more reason to go lavish with the mauve pink. I cringed when I watched you paint around the door handle. All it takes is a screwdriver to separate it from the door to assure no brush strokes or paint to wipe off the plate. I dig your bravery in going for it where many fear to tread. Thanks for sharing your process and ideas.

Absolutely beautiful! Would have never thought to use pink/mauve but it is so gorgeous in the space! I love the unexpected. I would keep the laundry doors open because it adds more interest and design with the contact paper in there. Great job!
