China won the Olympic men's synchronized 10-meter platform dive, beating Mexico and the U.S. in the final in London.
China's Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang, the youngest competitors today, scored 486.78 in the event at the Aquatics Centre today. Their final winning dive included 2 1/2 somersaults and 2 1/2 twistsBritish divers Tom Daley and Peter Waterfield led the competition after three dives before China's tucked reverse 3 1/2 somersault dive in the fourth round pushed them into first. Nicholas McCrory and David Boudia of the U.S. were beaten into third by Mexico's German Sanchez Sanchez and Ivan Garcia Navarro.
Cao, 17, and Zhang, 18, have extended China's lead at the top of the Olympic Games medal table. The country now has 13 medals, of which 7 are gold. U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron attended the event and saw Britain finish fourth. The host nation is waiting for its first gold medal.
