The 2024 Nissan NISMO Z Spotted on Public Streets!

The Z NISMO makes 420 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6.

Compared to the regular Performance Z, the NISMO gets a redesigned wastegate, better cooling, bigger oil cooler and performance-enhancing ignition timing. This gives it 20 extra horses and 34 more pound-feet of torque over the standard Z.

My buddy Joe from Raiti's Rides did a review last month on the new Nismo Z:
Is the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO the BEST new sports car to BUY?

The Z NISMO will only be available with the nine-speed (9 speed) automatic transmission. However, it does come with a NISMO-only clutch packs and retuned engine management software. This makes for quicker downshifts and a more aggressive launch control. There is also a Sport+ driving mode that makes the shifts much quicker.

Facts about this vehicle:
NISMO engineers are wildly enthusiastic but also extremely practical. Every item on the new Z NISMO is there to enhance performance. From its 420-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 to the aerodynamic design inspired by learnings from the incredibly successful GT500 race car, the Z NISMO is the purest expression of competition-bred design.

The Z is a massively capable and impressive sports car. And for the engineers at NISMO, it’s a great starting point to create the ultimate enthusiast’s vehicle. Key dimensions of performance are engineered, evaluated, and elevated to create a vehicle worthy of wearing the NISMO badge.

The connection between the driver and the machine is the essence of a sports car. That’s why you’ll find Z NISMO features a unique Alcantara®-appointed cockpit.

The latest model is the third-generation Z to unleash the power of NISMO. The first Z NISMO in the US was the 2007–08 350Z® NISMO. The second generation was the 2009–20 370Z® NISMO.

I can’t wait to review this vehicle soon and hopefully be one of the first to drive the all new Nissan Z NISMO on the road for my full Drive615 Review.

Leave a comment and let me know if you have any questions or things you would like to know about this 2024 Nissan Z NISMO.

I filmed this video in 4K on a Sony A6500 camera with a Sigma 16 F1.4 lens to try and bring you the best quality footage possible.

I've never been huge on Nissan other than the GTR, but this one is so perfect! I want one!

I’ll get one when they drop a manual transmission version

They fixed the awful grill on the regular model, which really ruined the look of a very good looking car otherwise. It's worth the extra money for that alone. Unless you want a manual, it's a no brainer to get this one over the base models. As a former 350Z owner, I think it's a really compelling package, if a little pricey for it's segment, as you are nearly are a base C8 Corvette range, which is a big level up in performance. I'm glad to hear the transmission is more responsive. I currently have an m performance BMW and the ZF in that is amazing and really adds to the enjoyment of the car, so much that I drive in manual mode 95 percent often time. Great review!

The only thing preventing me from buying a z nismo is it doesn’t have a manual transmission, if they do i already bought it from the start.

Hello Byron, good report of the new Nissan Z Nismo 2024, we are waiting for our Nissan Z Nismo, a black one for a project and we want to recommend to you the number 1 Exhaust, Borla with a gain of 20 more horsepower on the wheels and the best sound you ever heard with our Borla ATAK Sound

I've only ever owned Z's since 2010 as my sole car, so the 350 for 5 years and 370 for almost 9 now. I love the power upgrade and other features previously mentioned. Looks like the wheel arches are less aggressively flared compared to the 370 (bummer if true). Also, I was PRAYING for an interior redesign in the worst way. Literally been looking at the same dated interior in my cars for 13+. Same paneling and design...againagain. Steering wheel plastic on a 70k ride? No doubt there is a lot to like but this ride seems like around 12k above what it should be.

Car looks amazing and I would love to have one but that is crazy amount of money. These companies adjust for inflation but don't consider wages have stagnated significantly comparatively. I also can purchase the new BMW M2 for the same price and that has the option for a manual.

Thanks for the review. It does look better in comparison to the Performance. I drive a 370Z Nismo and never liked the red trims (how do I take them off). Regardless, the Z Nismo is a better looking car than the Z. The look from the rear is not so great - too large a skirt. I wish they'd pull the sides a bit inwards to show parts of the larger rear tires. I don't mind the auto - I'm sure a manual will come soon given what Supra is doing. The exhaust note at idle needs some character. I didn't hear anything about the structural upgrades Nismo had to make to get this car to where it is. Basically, it'd be hard to have same car with just aftermarket parts. Pretty tempting, but with a 370Z Nismo and a '96 Z32 Twin Turbo, I'll need more garage space.

Bmw has actual wider fenders, not stick-ons to the fenders. I think if this car had adaptive suspension so it had reasonable comfort on the street and also a manual it would be a decent buy. As it is, it is way too stiff for the street. Other cars have Recaro's with electric seats and seat heaters, so cheap on the seats.

Good one, still prefere the 370z Nismo over it!
