Is the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Behind Baba Siddique's Murder? Police Investigate Facebook Post

Authorities are investigating a Facebook post in which an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibility for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The post suggests that the attack was motivated by Siddique’s close association with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Siddique was shot outside his son’s office in Bandra on Saturday night and later pronounced dead at Lilavati Hospital.

Shortly after, a social media user, claiming to be part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took to Facebook to assert responsibility for the killing. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently imprisoned, is known for his involvement in high-profile crimes, including threats against Salman Khan.

The viral post indicated that the motive for the murder stemmed from Siddique's connection to Khan. It also mentioned Anuj Thapan, who was implicated in a shooting incident near Khan's home and died by suicide in police custody. The post stated, “Salman Khan, we didn’t want this conflict, but you caused the loss of our brother’s life. We hold no personal grudges, but anyone who aids Salman Khan will face consequences. We don’t strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs.”

Police Investigation into the Murder

The Mumbai police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Baba Siddique's death, considering angles such as contract killing, business disputes, or threats linked to a slum rehabilitation project. Officials believe the murder was premeditated.

Siddique's body was moved from Lilavati Hospital to Cooper Hospital for an autopsy. Following the postmortem, it will be taken to his residence at Maqba Heights in Bandra, where the public can pay their respects before the funeral at 8:30 PM.
