The actress reads/performs this astonishingly well - she's clearly a great actress - bit she's too beautiful and too young to embody the exhausted and dispirited schoolmistress Marya Vasilyevna...Brilliant though - I understand virtually no Russian, but was gripped just by the texture and emotion that she was able to convey by tone of voice and facial expression
