DAVID LACHAPELLE! LOVE HIS WORK! The promos he shot for MTV’s 2000 VMAs - Britney Spears selling hot dogs, Lil Kim in a pasty firefighter outfit, Blink0182 as garbage men, *NSYNC as construction workers… Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, and Beanie Siegel at a street party/BBQ. Classic.

Notice how Britney was front and center and the only artist dressed in gold to match the gold background. She was obviously the centerpiece of the picture and the one with the most star power out of that group. Maybe even more star power than everyone else in that group combined during that time.
