Reviews:
"I'm always excited to see an episode of any show with Ed Nelson in it, but this one was a bit too much for me. Ed Nelson played some sort of new age preacher who pretended he could heal people. This reminds me of a Little House on the Prairie episode, only this one wasn't nearly as dramatic.

I thought this episode was fairly good up until the end, the episode was over the top in the way it ended. I can't give details without giving things behind, but when Garth exits's the scene, that's where the episode should have ended...realistically.

"This plot has a friend of the Cartwrights (played by Breslin) in an accident with Hoss and her father. Her father dies and she is crippled and the doctor examining her cannot find any reason why. In comes a visiting-Virginia City faith healer (Ed Nelson) with whom Breslin falls in love. Breslin's great beauty single-handedly makes this ep work better than it would have otherwise.

Now on to another point. To many this story is not that good being about faith. But the Bible is something true to believe for it has not only written proven miraculous history but incredible scientific accuracy as well. Like the following facts:

I’m 52 and when I was a kid in the 1970’s TV was something to look forward to. With a long list of great shows from the 1960’s, 70’s, 80’s. I would watch Bonanza reruns with my grandpa. To this day it is my favorite show. Dan Blocker brought the character to life. When he passed the show couldn’t continue. 👍

Well scripted, acted and directed. For believers, this is an inspirational episode. For non-believers, still uplifting in the very human goodness of Hoss Cartwright, the gentle giant, who gave more love than received love. Dan Blocker was a highly underrated actor. Many thanks for showing this fine episode.

This is my favorite episode because I have cerebral palsy. I haven't been able to walk since I was born. I can walk, but with assistance. Even though I've accepted that I may not walk in my lifetime, I'm going to in my next. This is why Hoss is my favorite character. I would totally walk for him....and slap that dude in the face.

With Garth saying, "Have faith in me, believe in me." Never once did he mention God. That should've been a red flag 🚩 to Susan. However, the ending was very good. "There's only One miracle maker. Good episode!

The way Garth kept saying have faith in me, believe in me, reminded me of Satan...
there is only one miracle maker, Jesus Christ!

There was a Little House episode about a faith healer con artist. Perhaps this Bonanza episode was the inspiration for the Little house one..

Dan Blocker had been in an accident with Pernell Roberts and their horses a few episodes earlier where he broke his collarbone, so the sling is for real.

No real Man of God would say such crazy things as to believe in him, rather than have faith in God. Faith in man can make you feel all warm and fuzzy, but for actual healing, only God can do that. Sometimes God spontaneously heals people. Sometimes He works through medical personnel. However He heals, it is ALWAYS GOD WHO heals. Man can't heal. Only God can.

Never rush into marriage. Especially if you're pressured to. Or if the conditions are not right.
True healing comes by faith in Jesus Christ. Not any person. Some healings are instant. Some are gradual. But all in the Name of Jesus. Overall, a good episode. " There is only one miracle maker" .

Raymond Bailey played Susan's dad. He also played Mr Milburn Drysdale, the banker in "The Beverly Hillbillies."
