Powerful Mantra to Shiva Who Is Like the Sun (Bhakti Yoga Made Easy)

This chant is in honor of Shiva who “is like the sun.” “Ra” is a seed sound associated with fire. Om is the primal sound of all creation or the hum of the universe. Hari means “the remover” and refers to Shiva as the one who removes all suffering. Shiva is associated with breath, space and the cosmos, freedom, destruction, liberation and joy.

OM is often included at the beginning of a mantra or chant to clear the mind for meditation. OM is said to draw the energy from the bottom of the spine to the top of the head. The energy of OM is one of expansion and ascension.
