Its very heartbreaking to see all these very nice buses just being scrapped when they could have been given to a community or a smaller bus operator

We still had Dennis Tridents from 2001 when these hybrids were being scrapped…. 🚌😐

Driven pretty much most of these hybrids when I was at scotstoun before I transferred to dumbarton, tbh not the worst buses to drive and were flying machines off the mark, you just didn't touch the breaks or you'd end up through the windscreen due to the engine breaking from the motors at the back😂😂

It was weird seeing 43874 there. I’m from Cornwall and remember these buses being used on the then 47 route which ran through my village but is now run by Transport for Cornwall (Go Cornwall) and has since changed to 40.

The last bus used to be at blantyre. Sometimes used to drive it on the 266. Great wee bus.

Makes you think, in 1979, National Welsh were still running 1950s and 1960s Bristol Lodekkas and MWs. Sad to see buses in such a state.

Is Jack Dunsmore still trading?

Strange seeing all these buses being scrapped, it feels like yesterday when they were new 😂

Good video but yeah as you said those hybrids had to be unreliable or the company couldn't afford to replace the batteries/diesel conversion etc so it's scrapped, electric buses would probably suffer from the same problems in time anyway

I could swear first started introducing those leather seats not too long ago, I expect them still to have bench seats or something square like that

It's unfortunate that we waste a lot of things in the UK. These buses that are not considered as scarp will gladly be accepted by many countries around the world to help their public transport system. These buses just need regular serving and maintenance and they will go forever.

Shambolic getting rid of the hybrids. Very reliable runners

Got any videos with them using a claw crane to smash the buses apart ready for shredding. That's my favourite part 🎉❤

I'm very concerned about ADL Enviro 400's (the non-mmc ones) like why did the First Bus company have sold them in fairly young age of ecsploatation to scrap-yard more likely than these older B9TL's Geminis which are still regular to catch on several routes. The Enviro 400's were very useful for the route 6, today there's only like 10 of them left in Glasgow
