The AITO Wenjie M5 is a motor-driven PHEV vehicle that was announced in December 2021.
It is classified as a medium-sized SUV and is the first car under the AITO brand.
AITO is a brand established by Seres (金康汽車), which is under the umbrella of Dongfeng Motor, and is said to sell medium to high-priced cars developed in partnership with Huawei.
The main feature of the Qianjie M5 is that it is also equipped with HarmonyOS, Huawei's operating system, and is sometimes called "华为汽车" (Huawei's car) because it is announced, advertised, and sold by Huawei.
The powertrain is an e-Power system that uses the engine to generate electricity and the motor to drive, but the battery capacity is large and can be recharged, and the car boasts a cruising range of 1,200 km when fully loaded with gasoline and electricity, and can run 150 km on electricity alone.
The price starts at 250,000 yuan ($39,302), and deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of February 2022.
