What’s the weirdest habit you have?😳
When I was a kid, I had this quirky ritual: every time I crossed a busy street holding my mom’s hand, I’d always say “thank you” as soon as we reached the other side. It was my little way of acknowledging safety, I guess. Fast forward 16 years, and I’m navigating the chaos of NYC. But that childhood habit stuck with me. Without thinking, every time I crossed a street, I’d instinctively turn to the stranger walking beside me and say, “Thank you.” It became this bizarre reflex. The weirdest part? Most people would just smile and say, “You’re welcome,” like we’d just shared a secret handshake. We didn’t know each other, had no reason to interact, but for a brief moment, we were connected by this random act of politeness. Then, we'd continue on our separate ways, both a little confused but somehow lighter, as if the city’s rush had paused for just a second.
