Hello Dr Peter.,
My mother is a diabetic patient and she has been diagnosed with Cataract + Macular Edema. The retina consultant suggested that she has to undergo a combined treatment for Macular Edema ( Laser therapy + injections) then after a month she can go for the cataract surgery.. I just wanna know is this the right procedure that she has to undergo? and is there any possible complication that she might have after the laser the treatment ( for both cataract + macular edema )? Also, he request a fluorescein retinal angiography for her so i want to know is this (stain) safe to use in case of diabetes? is there any side effect for it? does it affect the kidneys? dose she needs to stop her diabetic medications?
