In this chat, Rachel Pacione will introduce the Martin Family Initiative (MFI) Early Years' approach to supporting Indigenous organizations through the co-creation of culturally-adapted resources and trainings. Charlene Rattlesnake and Candace Cutarm from Maskwacis Health Services, a partner organization of MFI, will speak to their experiences with preterm birth, their roles in supporting children and families in their community, and the unique needs and challenges of Indigenous families in the NICU and at home post-discharge. We will also launch a new resource, an animated video that provides tips for Indigenous families on navigating the NICU. The video was created through a collaboration between CPBF, MFI Early Years, Maskwacis Health Services, and VCreate.
