This is a lost art. So much respect for people like you who pass on the knowledge to the younger generation.

I love seeing people who actually care about their work/customers. Unfortunately that’s becoming a rare thing these days.

This is amazing. Part Engineer, part mechanic, total artist. Never realized how much there was to replacing a seat cover! Great job!

I can safely say and speak for everyone that we all need someone like him in every shop we take our vehicle in for work.

Richard, besides being a dear friend, is an artist! Not only does he deal with repairs just as in this video but is also a first-class model airplane designer as well as being a super honest and exceptional person. True Story!!!

I couldn’t help recognizing how you referred to your customer as “my customer” & “happy customer” instead of THE customer. You, my friend, show enormous respect for people like me looking for craftsmen faithful to us and our needs. Thank you for that!

I did upholstery with my dad. He however did all the sewing and I did take down and replace. We did few automobiles and used hog rings in those days. I loved doing hand work. Probably why I ended up being a metal specialist journeyman welder. I still miss the upholstery.
You sir are an expert to the highest level.

As a DIYer, this is something I wouldn't try myself. Amazing Craftmanship and a common problem with older vehicles. I would absolutely like to have someone like you make the repair for me. Big advantage not messing with the airbags.

From a professional to the other, there is always ways of improving your knowledge. I learned how to remove that cover the easiest way. You explain like a third grade teacher with patience without waisting time. Congrats my friend.

Like how the man is soft spoken. Makes me wonder if he ever gets frustrated when doing a job. The repair looks well done and brand spanking new 👏

There is a reason folks come to even when you show how you do it. You make it look easy with all your experience. Well done!!

This is my newest favorite channel!
Your personable demeanor makes this a pleasure to watch- on top of the golden knowledge you share.

At about 14 mins, when you're sewing the pieces together I was like "That's going so smoothly- it doesn't look very hard." ten seconds later I was like "Uh, after 40 yrs everything looks easy. This does NOT look so easy for me to do.."

Nice that you have spray glue readily available at your work station. Thanks for not filming the few seconds of pain for the spider. 😀

I really appreciate the way that you share your experience in a straight forward manner. It's obvious that you have honed your skills and I hope that you are able to pass them on to a new generation at your shop. Experience, knowledge, and customer empathy equal a thriving business and repeat/referral customers. Thanks for sharing!
