They could literally make skeggi playable as a new race and just throw norsca a few new units.

I have been calling for Mortkin as a LL for Norsca for years!

He's a bit more obscure but he basically was a Norscan who carved a bloody path through Nordland and Ostland as revenge for Von Raulov's campaigns against Norscan collages

Mortkin had impressed the Chaos gods so much they we're actually debating if he was the next Everchosen...

Mortkin however, had different plans. His motivation was revenge and when he slaughtered Oleg Von Raukov, he threw down his weapons, took off his Helmet and said

"Wergild is paid. Let Volganof burn to pay for my home of Ulfennik. Never again will I return there. My saga is ended. I choose now to die as a man, my will my own. I go now, too late mayhaps, to the halls of my fathers."

The chaos gods were not pleased and the blessings bestowed upon Mortkin dissipated, the fell light surrounding him fading...And he allowed himself to je struck down by Ostland's elite "Scarlett Curs"


So...yes, technically he's dead...but so was Repanse and I believe Azhag too.

To me he has the "Rule of Cool" needed to be a LL

So CA, Give us the Black-iron Reaver!!

I'm actually playing a Norsca campaign right now where I left the motherland behind and went to Skeggi, honestly the most fun i've had playing this faction

A faction so unloved, it's big lord character - Throgg is borderline a completely different character to how he is portrayed in the books and rules. And he's the only lord in the game who got that treatment.

Probably everyone at CA gets PTSD every time Norsca are mentioned because of all that trouble they caused for themselves with the Norsca debacle back then.

I just realised a great generic lord they could add for norsca, a type of javalin throwing monster hunter lord. More range than the regular javalin throwers (buffs them too and some types of monsters) able to fire on the move. Specializes in taking down large/monsterous opponents and locking them down. (like a net type ability for large single entities)

Gets a generic horse and also a wagon mount. Maybe as a monsterous mount he gets a manticore so you have a flying anti large unit that keeps attacking big monsterous units. And the manitcore mount gives them more survivability and combat prowers against regular infantry etc.

I assume that if Norsca did ever get any more units or love it'd be alongside a "Northern Tribes" DLC which would likely also include new sub-races like the Kurgan, Hung, and Tong.

I just want the Kurgan so bad, as a big fan of hit and run, horse archer factions like the Huns from Attila or Parthia from Rome II.

Legendary Lords
Sayl the Faithless- Starts in north chaos wastes where the Dolgan currently start, Buffs mammoths and Kurgan units, and his campaign mechanics are based around swapping around god devotions rather than fully committing to any one.

King Adella- Starts in Skeggi, sword and spear character, mechanic is based around keeping loyalty up for other chieftains (maybe just using the loyalty system, or the older rome 2 system. Basically she should have some mechanic to keep control of skeggi)

Mona Mimn- Starts far from Norsca, buffs Fimir and Fen Beasts, and campaign is focused on rebuilding her clan, followed by the fimir

Egil Styrbjorn- His fleet starts near Brettonia coast, with his home province of Skaeling in some type of civil war with him gone so you can either return to reclaim it similar to how Malus can keep Hag Graef, or sail around. Buffs reavers and wolves, campaign is focused around sea raiding\

Legendary Hero
Beorg Bearstruck- While I could also see him as a LL, he would be a strong melee shifter that can be anti-infantry in human form, and anti-large in skinbear form

Lords
Shaman-Seer- Caster lord of Shaman

Skin Wolf Alpha- Leader of Skin Wolf packs, fast AP lord (I had thought about this being a talent option for chieftains, but with the mounts felt making them their own would work out better, plus more options are nice and that lets the chieftains get tweaked on their own)

Fimir Warlord - Slow, tanky great weapon lord

Heroes
Valkyrie- Anti Large duelist hero, maybe with a aoe buffs she can give

Units
Snow Trolls- Non Chaos Trolls, another unit for Throgg

Northern scavengers- Chaos crows as another fast moving unit for Norsca to account for their lack of range and assist the factions fast moving playstyle

Reavers- Fast medium armored sea raiders with strider and/or aquatic

Giant ice wolf- fast Large chaos wolf SEM. Better at single target than the mammoth but squishier

Skin-Bears- These just feel like they would fit if Beorg is, AP version of Skin Wolves with 16 unit size

Curse'd Ettin- SEM giant with bound spells

Shearls- (cheaper lower tier Fimir with 24 models similar to ogre bulls)

Kurgan Horse Champions- Very fast light armored great axe AP units with small amount of javelins (not ranged units, just 2-3 ammo to poke before charging

Mistweaver- (Fimir unit that provides stalk to nearby allies)

Fen Beasts-(These are usually tied to Albion, but I've seen new lore that says Fimir also use them)

Norsca Changes
Wulfrik- Remove mounts, increase dueling potential, add Gift of Tongues somehow (2 ways I could see is either Wulfrik causes rampage on enemy lords or heroes to force them to actually fight him, or gives a 20% debuff to enemy lords or heroes on the map when not engaged in melee with him). To account for Wulfriks mammoth being removed, seafang now summons a unit of marauders (or berserkers if not strong enough) at the end of it's path similar to table top having it be a transportation tool. Wulfriks Campaign is now about getting missions to hunt down enemy lords and LL's

Throgg- Rework voice and model, allow talents or missions to recruit other types of trolls, make his focus more about recruiting monsters from the monster hunts

Reskin marauders that are used like 9 times in the roster to be a little more unique.

Norsca has gotten a pretty big role as the vassal minions of every chaos faction. Some overhaul would be both appropriate and timely.

My hair brained scheme, Norsca is going to be included in the Slaanesh DLC alongside the High Elves

High Elves and Slaanesh have a big rivalry, and the most likely candidate for an elf LL is Sealord Aislinn. Aislinn is famous for attacking Norsca, so including them in a lord pack with him makes sense

Norsca is the monster faction that really suffers from being Warriors of Chaos' bitch. Their infantry starts solid until turn 40 when you realize there aint no Chosen waiting for you cuz they all run off to suck up to some uberdouche. So you just do full stacks of trolls and mammoths and weredoggos. What I wouldnt give for Huscarls and Shieldmaidens

The closest DLC we have gotten where all packs of different factions, not Norsca. And even then, all they have given us are Harry the Hammer, Aekold the hellbrass, Skegai, Abraax, and depending on how you describe Norsca; Festius, Vilitch, and Valkia.

Yet characters like Tomb-King Raider Valgar, Garmr who fought Gotrek, Lustria finder Losteriksson, Valnir the Reaper aka the Nurgle Norscan, Egil the Khorne, Styrkaar the Skaneshi Norscan, the Frost Giant king, the shield maiden Jora & Shapeshifting werebear Bjorn duo, Valkyries as a mutant/corrupted force, Lord Mortkin aka the King of Norsca and Crom the Conqueror are nowhere to be seen.

Man, I would love to get 1-2 new norscan LLs, no need for any super fancy campaign changes just different starting locations, different lord options and some spicy LLs with some cool abilities. Tried out Wulfrik with a friend in coop who was Louen, since I felt like him stopping the bretonnitide might make for fun campaign but the game ended up snowballing into my loss so quickly with Azazel coming over and steamrolling me with his superior army when all I could recruit was some spear chucking baboons and basic marauder monkemen.

Norsca for sure needs some new generic lords, like again there is nothing wrong with the regular one but you use him in a very specific way in the campaign. (IE put him on his mammoth mount ASAP and trample around)

They could use a magic generic lord with some beefier stats and maybe have them have a more chaos shrine mammoth. And also a more melee focused lord meant for getting stuck in and helping marauder units in the fray or some kind of generic hero for that. (kinda like beastmen so you have a capable warrior hero thats cheaper than the werewolf hero)

Can also be that the new generic lord doesnt ride a mammoth but the frost dragon instead to mix it up a little.

Would also be cool to see a generic monsterous lord for them like the half-giants, something fresh and new and what we rarely see.

Well, their economy being not utter crap is great, i prefer to worry about having too much money over not having enough.
But i agree with you, Norsca is pretty much then only faction that hasn´t recieved ANY new units since the day it came out.
