RTX 5090 Laptops are BETTER than we Thought

The RTX 5090 laptops are here and we wanted our benchmarks and testing to be different, to show a unique side for this GPU. So in addition to 1600p and 4K gaming framerates, we also tested the RTX 5090's effects on Battery Life, gaming while on batter, Creator Workloads and even AI testing with Deepseek on the GPU....and more. It turns out, this GPU MIGHT be better than we thought, but there is one catch.

Yeah, but a 4090 laptop costs CAD $3800 + HST. A 4080 laptop costs CAD $2700 + HST. Whereas a 5090 laptop is CAD $5700 + HST and a 5080 laptop is CAD $4300 + HST. That's a whopping 50% and 65% price difference for a completely negligible performance increase. The choice is clear.

1000 dollars more for essentially no substantial performance increase is simply ridiculous, and no reviewer should support such a draconian pricing scheme. Multi frame generation is nice, but not worth 1000 dollars. Not it is an increase in portability.

You are really hyping up the 5090, when almost all of the efficiency & battery performance gains are from them switching to AMD. Compare these results to the AMD based G16 OLED and they're not impressive anymore. For a new generation the 5000 laptop GPU's are almost a waste of silicon.

RTX 5090 Laptop GPU = RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
RTX 5080 Laptop GPU = RTX 4080 Laptop GPU.
RTX 5070 Laptop GPU = RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.

Basically, the performance increase in desktop versions is due to more power requirement.

They actually aren’t, 4090 is a better value. Only thing 5000 series has going for it is dlss 4 and I hate how Nvidia has locked out or designed it to be that way, or the fact that we are have to use this as a crutch because these companies can’t seem to give us real performance.

Don't make a thumbnail of a 5090 GPU and an arrow going into a laptop when a laptop 5090 is nothing like a 5090 GPU that's just really shady and misinformation
