WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

For those curious, the Azusa Street Revival was basically the catalyzing event of Pentecostalism in the US in 1906, a bunch of street preachers started speaking in tongues and doing the average pentecostal weirdness.

As usual, it's "this historical event [which cannot be verified in any meaningful sense and may have been caused by anything from mental illness to ergotism to mass hysteria to intentional grifting] proves my deity"

I'm late to the game here. I've just discovered this channel.

I live in the UK and I find the religious commitment of America (not all Americans obviously) fascinating and equally terrifying.

I've been told many times on social media by Christians that I am destined for a eternity of suffering if I don't accept Christ. I never know how to respond to someone who has a deep rooted fear of an imaginary being

Yup. When someone tells me that "you need to interpret" what the bible says, I always ask them how they know that their interpretation is correct. Excellent episode gentlemen 👍
