Absolutely love this video! Showing off some affordable (but not cheaply made) products is what originally got me subscribed to your channel years ago. I bought my son a Paria sleeping bag based on your recommendation years ago, and it's still serving him well. I've wondered about Featherstone products for a while now, so thank for sharing...giving that thing some consideration for my 1st trekking pole tent.

I really appreciate this. One of the problems I see with outdoor gear is that equipment is so expensive it prices people out of the hobby.

I love Paria Outdoors. I absolutely love them for entry level gear and budget minded backpackers. My Bryce 2p has been going strong for 7 years and their customer service is amazing.

My experience with them and their products have been excellent. I own many of their other products which are excellent as well.

I love their pillow when combined with a simple blowup pillow that nestles in the paria’s pillow sleeve. It weighs as much as many backpacking pillows but is very comfortable.

Nice review
I am very happy with the Lanshan 2
Reliable and light weight
Lots of mods online that makes it a good tent in poorer conditions
And the price is right
Also summer and winter inners, which makes one tent very versatile

Wanting to love these options but for another 8 oz over the Paria, have my REI Passage 2 that is 54” wide, taller, thunderstorm-proven by me & nearly indestructible so far from the 2 dogs I travel with. 2 doors & vestibules too, fool-proof 2-pole design. I like a 2-straight pole’s flexibility, as an engineer. Was about $125 on sale 4 yrs ago, but inflation happens ya know. Until I go on longer-than a weekend backpack trips in the near future, can’t justify a Paria 1-P yet. Loved the detailed reviews tho but as a Southern & midwestern camper, storm proofness wins out over all else at this time. Like to go thru a 2-inch sudden rain & still stay dry. Newer Passage 2 is a slightly different design.

Thanks for sharing budget options. The designs are cookie cutter but are proven, solid designs. The Zion looks like the MSR Hubba Hubba which NatureHike copied with the Mongar, but the Zion 1P is unique for a 1P for having 2 doors. Nice there's another budget alternative to NatureHike or 3FUL. I hope their customer support is decent.

I dont get ultra light... can people not carry 35lbs for 3 days? my only complaint on FeatherStone... better floor, add a few ounces for reliability, I have to now pack a footprint?.. its thin... outside of that & adding 1 1/4" to the bottom mesh panel extending it for airflow (southeast) its a good tent! Plus I have a dog, I need a tough

Featherstone Backbone is remarkably similar to ZPack's Offset Duo - and $500(!!) less!!

Would you rather one of these over the 3FUL 2 person tents? The Lanshan or Lanshan Pro? I’m on a college budget since I went back to finish a degree and have to watch my pennies😂

What's the purpose of those vestibules if people bring their shoes and backpack into the tent?

The Featherstone Backbone looks like the ZPacks Offset Duo.

Great review. Do you have any opinions on The Bryce 1 Paria tent compared to the Zion 1P? Trying to decide which one to buy -they are the same price. Thanks.

I’m curious to know how the 1p backbone tent compares?

Why those tents instead of the Lanshan 2 trekking pole tent?

Why cant these tent manufacturers make tents that are not butt ass ugly in color? Tents should be of a natural color found in nature!

You were the first channel that really featured Paria products when I was looking at colder weather gear for those on a budget, and I really appreciated it! Have their sleeping pads, a tent, and a couple quilts from them and am really happy with their products AND their customer service.

Yes! I think many of us watch the reviews of high end gear and think "yeah, if only. Maybe someday" and then carry our budget-friendlier gear again on our next trip. I bought the Zion 1p this summer and couldn't be happier with the quality and weight. More content like this please!

Featherstone definitely needs more PR! They're a great company with quality products. I haven't used any of their tents, but the moondance quilt is an amazing product

I'm a really big fan of Paria. I use the Bryce 1P on a lot of trips where I want to use a semi freestanding tent. Their customer service is fantastic and really do live up to their warranties. I like the look of the Featherstone tents but the fact the foot end of the 1P and 2P tents taper so much, I won't get one. The Paria Arches 2P trekking pole tent is a great option at less than 3lbs and $159. With a floor width of 53 inches, it's a true two person tent.
