"Move Over, Darling" is a reboot of the 1940 screwball comedy film "My Favorite Wife," starring Irene Dunne, Cary Grant, and Gail Patrick. The film was originally intended to be a continuation of the earlier film, titled "Something's Got to Give," which was being shot in 1962 with Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, and Cyd Charisse, but it was canceled after Monroe's death in August of that year. The new film, directed by Michael Gordon and starring Doris Day, James Garner, and Polly Bergen, was filmed in color and CinemaScope. It is not known how former President Spyros Skouras or FOX founder Darryl Francis Zanuck reacted to Monroe's death and the cancellation of "Something's Got to Give."

After being stranded on a deserted island for five years, Nicole Draper returns home to find that her husband, who was presumed dead, has miraculously returned and remarried. Determined to win back her husband and reclaim her old life, Nicole competes with her husband's new wife, Peggy, to prove that she is the better spouse. As the two women vie for Mr. Draper's affections, the situation becomes comical and absurd, leaving Mr. Draper to decide who he truly loves and wants to spend his life with. "Move Over, Darling" is a heartwarming and humorous story about love, marriage, and the lengths we go to for those we love.

Notice for 20th Century Studios fans, that the widescreen aspect ratio for FOX and Cinemascope logos will be stretched or cropped to fit into a VHS mode of 4:3 aspect ratio.
