I believe it says in the dmc4 library that he was raised alongside Credo and Kyrie. He also confirms that he never knew any family outside of them until he learned Vergil was his father in dmc5

That's just a used model of his mother But it would be crazy if that was actually her and Nero never knew his mother Which is sad

Isn’t Nero mum dead by this point in the story or no longer part of the order of the sword

There are 2 prevailing theories.
1st, Nero was left by his mother in front of an orphanage which later on taken care alongside Credo and Kyrie. He was bullied for having a "prostitute" mother as a child. And the rumor about her mother being a prostitute should've been going around which makes her left.

2nd she died right after Nero was born. This could be the case since life is at stake when giving a birth, OR she couldn't handle the burden as Nero has demon blood within him.

Whichever is true from these 2 theories, 1 thing can be concluded. She wasn't present during the event of DMC 4.

As for the model? Meh. It was a rushed game back in 2008, they could've just copy, paste, and recolor them to sped things up.

Like Vergil no doubt told/bragged about being a demon and all. And considering the order fo the sword literally kills demons... that's a problem, plus Nero growing up would probably ask a hella lot of questions about his father and probably look for it himself. So she probably left him at the orphanage with Credo and Kyrie too let him stay safe and not know about his connections to demons...

But then the Devil Bringer happened and woop, oh well he knows anyway now. And she has no clue and still hasn't gone back yet. Or just watches him from afar like some sonic underground shit
