iPhone 16 Pro Max - Flawed or Flawless?

The iPhone 16 Pro has been out for 6 months now, and Apple promised a lot with this phone that they necessarily did not deliver on, however after 6 months of using this phone is it still worth it or should you just wait for the iPhone 17.

i just got my regular 16 Ultramarine. This is my first upgrade in 5 years. I had the SE 2 and just got sick of the camera and it was starting to act funny. 3 days in and I love this 16. I knew a pro wasn't for me and any phone 5 years newer would blow my mind anyway.

From 15 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max because my wife’s 13 Pro Max had broken camera glass and battery was starting to show it’s age. Got a good deal on the 16 else I would have waited on the 17. Not noticing massive improvements but it does stay much cooler and battery life is a bit better. I love it overall. And now we’re good again for a few years. Bring on the 18 or 19 whatever has a meaningful upgrade by then 😅

I downsized from 12PM to 16 pro in December. I do miss having a larger battery and slightly larger screen but I do not miss having a brick in my pocket.

The pro feels better in my hand and while I don’t have large hands (I’m a female), I can still use the phone one handed, though it’s a bit of a stretch at times. I used to do EVERYTHING on my 12PM and as a result killed my battery very quickly. It’s already been replaced once and needs a replacement again.

Now I use my phone a bit less and my battery health is still 100% even though I’ve had it since December. I use my MacBook Pro or iPad Pro for tasks most suitable for those devices instead of trying to do it on my phone. It’s kind of nice having a phone again instead of carrying around a mini tablet everywhere. I can hold my 16 pro up to take photos/videos without my hand getting tired after a few minutes

Love my 16 Pro Max.The size and weight has never bothered me.I’ve always had the largest iPhone since the 6 Plus was introduced in 2014.Couldn’t go back to a smaller one with less battery life now.

Thanks for a different perspective. A lot of people complain about there not being a lot of differences between the newer models and the older ones as something bad and you reframed it as something good - us not needing to upgrade every year.

I don't use this AI stuff at all, and I'm glad it hasn't made it to iPhones properly, I have AI turned off because it's not necessary, it's more of a distraction to be smart and it doesn't suit people! At the same time, I'm very happy with my iPhones, the latest update also fixed several bugs, and I really like the look of the new iPhone 17 Pro, the big camera and it's good that it comes in two tones, and I think that if the leaks of the new iPhone are true, then it will be a much more durable phone than the previous ones and you won't have to use cases! I feel your pain regarding size, I love the screen, great for media, but I have fond myself switching to my 15pro form my 16 pro max for long work days, just for the smaller easier to handle form factor

For most the regular 16 non-pro is where it’s @ this year. 95% of the pro for cheaper and lighter, and better looking. Only reason for the Pro is the one extra lens, but the two lenses cover almost everything on the regular 16.

I’ve had my phone since its launch, and it’s been an incredible experience. It’s still completely worth the investment. My battery health is at 96%, and I’ve already completed over 260 charge cycles. Despite being a heavy user, this phone has proven to be reliable and durable. And that was an Apple rewrite of the comment.

I actually returned my 16 pro and stayed with my 15 pro once I noticed the increase in screen size. Most people don’t notice it but I certainly did and couldn’t bare the heavier and bigger size…

I’ve had my 14 Pro since December 2022, the only reason I’m even considering upgrading to the 17 Pro is because of the improvement coming to the zoom camera. Apple intelligence or any other changes mean little to nothing to me I just want the best zoom capabilities possible on an iPhone

Manufacturers should really make a case that completely covers the camera control button, I completely agree it's useless
