If GPU makers are actually selling more GPUs than ever before, then 95% of them are being scooped by miners. When you look at Steam's hardware survey, the desktop RTX 3000 series- like, all of them put together- just (as of now, 15 months after launch) has more users than the six-year-old GTX 1060.

you will be able to buy graphic cards affordably when the companies stop making money from the shortage.

after being a PC gamer for 20 years I gave up on finding a GPU (for MSRP) and got a Series X for msrp at Best Buy (had to wait in line at 5am). I am very satisfied. For the price of a GPU the series X is a complete system with a very mature software ecosystem. I’ll update my PC eventually someday but there’s no rush for me now.

Regarding Verizon, there's a term that I fell in love with a couple years ago and it describes this perfectly. The term is "The tyranny of the default".
Verizon knows what they are doing, they just don't

I don’t believe this will be over soon. They have every incentive to continue this because they make loads of money selling to miners

There will never be enough GPU's... while gamers and creators may only need one every few years, the miners always want more.
And it's just more effective to sell 5000 GPU's to one client then go through the logistics chain and sell them retail to 5000 different customers

You can buy a GPU though... If you want to give up a kidney, two fingers and subject yourself to a 12 year monthly payment plan.

This is the problem with only have a handful of companies that make a certain product. Competition keeps em honest.

Nvidia's statement is interesting... the ETH 2.0 merge is slated for the middle of next year. I don't think supply is going to end this... I think demand is. And that will be bad news for anyone selling new GPU's when the used market gets flooded with GPU's. Hopefully the merge date sticks this time.

Theory: GPUs will continue to be expensive and rare that only rich people will buy them. So "Gaming CPUs" will be a thing where APUs will start to advance their 3D performance like we had been watching video cards for the last 20 years. this is good news for AMD and Intel, but Nvidia has nothing in this market.

Keep it up Brett! Loving the content for nearly half a decade now. Seen the trouble your family went through and still persevered. Almost brings a tear to my eye :')

Seeing the EU attempt to make new 2nm nodes is kinda cool, but even though things are going more smoothly than expected in spite of the low public funding, I still don't expect the yields to do well.

I think reason why lot of people following this channel have 3rd gen is thanks to you Brett, giving us all the latest updates on releases and deals, I took day off so I can hunt for the card on the release day and after stressful 20min of online shopping and 2weeks of waiting it did work out...
