Great reaction to be fair, you had a good enough understanding of Hurling to get the way the game is played 👍
And at the end when he took the free from 97m, to comprehend that a soccer pitch is 105m !!
Hope you keep watching

I was at that match. Still gives me chills watching it. Many say it was the greatest All Ireland Hurling final EVER.

Back in the 1991 Leinster Gaelic football championship, Dublin and Meath had to go to a replay three times! Across the four games there was a total attendance of 237, 000, and in the end, Meath won the fourth match by a single point.

As part of the irish community in Australia, I must say your content is on point

It is not unusual for a GAA final match to go to a replay, or even a replay of a replay after a further draw, just to get a result. That has happened! As for the supporters sitting peacefully side by side, it is worth noting that there were two finals games played that day - a minor final followed by this senior final. That means there could have been up to four different counties teams playing, and maybe four sets of supporters sitting side by side in the stands.

As a Tipperary man I watched a lot of fantastic All Ireland Finals over the years but this definitely goes down as one of the best I had ever seen. It's an unbelievable game from grass roots upwards. Thanks for sharing your reactions.

In 1970 I was working on a project in Dublin & we stayed at a hotel near Croke Park. The weekend of the hurling final came around & after the match some of the players came & drank in the hotel bar. That was a fun night lol.

Love your reaction, dude. Played it when I was in the Christian Brothers in Dublin in the nineteen sixties. And watched the great Tipperary team of that era play and destroy all comers at Croke Park when just a lad. No words. Simply, no words.

I was at that match, I legitimately cried when the ref called for HawkEye. An old Kilkenny lad wished myself and my Tipperary friends the best of luck. And Bubbles missed it. The atmosphere was beautiful though. Both sets of fans reckoned a draw was fair...

Was at the game with my daughter. It was her first time going to an All Ireland final.
I'm from Kilkenny originally and it was a real dream getting to bring her.
We both left the ground shaking after all the high drama.
She asked me were all finals this good and I told her no, that she probably witnessed one of the great finals of all time.
We went to the replay and got to watch Kilkenny beat the lard out of Tipperary.
Great reaction vid.

I'm from Thurles, Tipperary, I was at the match wearing Tipperary colours amongst Kilkenny crowd a great game, one of the best Tipp V Cats games..Kilkenny won replay by a goal, 2-17 to 2-14 . Kilkenny won again in 2015 (36th win) then in 2016 Tipperary beat Kilkenny by 3 goals 2-29 to 2-20. Galway won in 2017 (5th win), Limerick won in 2018, Tipperary won again in 2019 (28th win). In 2020 & 2021 Limerick won ( 10th win). I look forward to the Tipperary Club games, the National League, Munster championship and All Ireland championship in 2022! Ar Son na hEireann!

As a teen there was an advert showing a Hurler in silhouette. The caption was .... THIS MAN CAN BREAK HEARTS AT 90 YARDS. I always thought that was the coolest advert for a sport I ever saw.

The Henry shefflin fella who came on is the best player in the last 30 years. He has 10 all Ireland’s and is the top scorer in championship history. Look him up if you want to see how good he was. His nickname is the king of hurling

Think you may be forgetting... but up to 2010, if the English FA Cup final ended in a draw, it went to a replay, with the last final to go to a replay being in 1993.
The GAA are very seeped in tradition, and this rule will probably never be changed.
As an association that filters right down to the community and parish level, the GAA invest a lot of money it earns back into the grassroots level, and one of it's biggest incomes come from the All-Ireland Final.
82, 000 tickets nets about €7 million for the association, and I think they secretly hope that every final will end in a draw, so they can sell another 82, 000 tickets 2 weeks later!
Obviously, if the replay ends in a draw, extra time & penalties decide the outcome

As an Irishman, let me say mate that your analysis of hurling, which you are new to, is very very good. Well done mate 👍 You should keep watching it. Hurling is getting better each year

Henry Shefflin, who got the big cheer, is one of the greatest hurlers of all time. One of Kilkenny's greatest. They call him 'King Henry' down there, this was towards the tail end of his career as he retired after this season. This years victory (maybe thats a spoiler alert lol) won him his tenth All-Ireland winners medal, which is the record. Not sure if there's any good highlights on youtube, if there is you should watch him.
