How To Change Facebook Profile Picture Without Losing Likes

If you change your Facebook profile picture it's best if you keep all your likes and comments. In this video, I walk you through the steps you can take to make sure you don't lose your likes and comments. Keep in mind, the key to this is to not upload a brand new photo as that will reset the likes and comments. Without an existing photo, Facebook will start over again and you won't be able to keep the same likes. Losing likes and comments can mean that when people view your Facebook profile picture it looks like you have fewer friends. You can always change the picture back to your old picture to restore the old likes and comments too.

I figured it out if u dont hav that option on top...select change profile pic. Go to albums..wen in albums..go to profile pics and select one of those ull keep all likes and comments. This drove me nuts for over a year now lol

This ONLY applies to pictures that were once your “profile picture.” You Cannot do this with a picture from your timeline that was previously posted and has a lot of likes. You will lose all likes and comment so NO this doesn’t help me!

What if the picture you want to make as a profile picture isn’t already uploaded as a profile picture but you want to upload the picture you already have uploaded on Facebook “uploads” as a profile picture? I tried to upload a picture I already have on my uploads/timeline as a profile picture & it didn’t keep the comments or likes

Well that's a bummer. I don't want to lose the likes a regular photo already has. Facebook should change that because it's just duplicating an old photo then. So lame but then again, so is facebook.

What did you tap on at 0.20 seconds to bring up the menu that allows you to view profile picture?
It's very frustrating, that you went to the bother of making a video to show how to change profile picture tland keep likes, and then not make the video clear to understand how to do it.
If you slowed down a bit and showed each step, it would be a lot easier to follow

It looks like this only works for for photos in your profile pictures album and no other albums. I tried posting from 'photos of you' and it's a brand new copy.
