FAIRBAIRN METHOD GUTTER FIGHTING - ANATOMICAL BREAKDOWN OF THE HUMAN EYE

preview_player
Показать описание
Fairbairn Protocol's Barry Drennan provides a detailed anatomical description of the physical structure of the human eye. he accompanies this breakdown with the specifics of attacking the eye through impacts and focused pressure thus optimizing the use as an asset. The discourse finishes with some warnings in the use of the eye and a good understanding of what type of entry provides what type of result.

If I may share some useful personal insight on the receiving end . Not in a fighting context, but occupational . As a housepainter I have had random debris and fluids shot into my eyes many times . Goggles aren't always an option when they will just get covered in paint . What happens is even if its just one eye you shut both and turn away from the source . You drop what's in your hands and bring them up to your face . It's nearly impossible to keep from doing this . Your eye starts to flutter and spasm and you literally hear a "whirring" sound from the nerves . If it's bad enough your instinct is to sit down or squat . Watch any fight footage of an eye poke, you'll see what I mean . So from a fighting standpoint, you're done for a bit

I first encountered Defendu probably 30 years ago and since have studied and embraced much of the gutter fighting and other concepts Fairburn promulgated. When I've had occasion to use them they have served me well. It's refreshing to see someone taken it seriously in this day of MMA and so many "self defense experts" who, while skilled, are essentially sportsmen, not fighters, and as such seem actively opposed to what experience has shown for me at least to be the most simple efficient and effective means of ending an attack. Everyone now screams cardio, more gas in the tank, etc...because they have been training to fight multiple 5 minute rounds in a sport where ending the fight is hard because all the best tools are ruled out. You can plainly tell these sorts of fellows have never been in a real fight, which is never going to last 5 minutes because someone would be maimed or dead long before then. They are trying to paint the house without any brushes or rollers or spayers, then declaring it takes a month to paint the house. If you point out their folly, they insist that rollers and brushes aren't very effective, and besides, since I don't have 20 years of training in splashing paint on walls and only learned to use rollers and brushes I don't know what I'm talking about anyway, and I'd never even get to lay a brush on the wall because I've never rolled in paint and rubbed myself against one. It would be funny if it wasn't such a serious topic.

super; i would add, that once you've got his head tilted back, immediately switch the eye-attacking-hand/forearm to a throat-smash, leaning-in like an elbow-strike-- if possible, have your L-hand/forearm behind his neck or back, to pull him into this throat-smash

Because it would totally suck to lose everything you have to the asshole and his family that has just assaulted you. Perhaps in your home, in the parking lot or just a random victim selection. So, imagine the quality of human being that victimizes other people. Now, imagine sitting as a defendant watching the jury nod their collective heads in agreement as the prosecutor describes what a victim this predator is while showing childhood pictures of sweet innocence. You might also imagine the stern looks of disapproval from the jury as you are being described as a hateful, mean person, who went out of his way to defend his home or loved ones. After all, you could have just begged for mercy and hoped for the best right? That sinking feeling of doom? Yep, that’s you losing your house.

It’s 2023 in America, you picking up what I’m putting down?

Two remarks:
1) a classmate accidentally injured another classmate by wildly gesticulating and accidentally cutting his sense with her fingernail!
2) AFAIK, there's a good chance that the eye popps out of its socket, if you insert the finger between the eye and the lower part of the socket. That's painful, but can be fixed rather easily.

People who just say go for the eyes are crazy, they obiously havent ever poked someone in the eye who was trying not to get hit, if youre not good enough in a fight to hit someone with a punch you definately aint gonna hit the eyes, unless you have them mounted i wouldnt bother and at that point theres other things you can do that make more sense

Great info. I never realized that there was such a difference in what part of the eye you attack.

By the way, has anyone ever told you that you look like Woody Harrelson? Not exactly, but I swear you guys could pass for brothers.
