My family always used to do this. after the birthday person would blow out their candles, the adults would relight the candles and cheer when the younger kids blew them out. this would happen almost every birthday

this reminds me of at my birthday last year, we went to the museum of rock because i was really excited about it and my parents surprised me with tickets. it was a great trip but the entire time my little sister was complaining that she was tired and that she didn’t know any of the bands/artists they mentioned in the museum. she complained so much that we had to leave an hour early, and in the car she seemed perfectly fine. it just felt so disrespectful bc it was my day

I was once at my grandma’s birthday when she called me over to blow the candles out. I’m the first granddaughter in the family so she cherishes me dearly. I still feel guilt, no idea how others can do this without considering other’s feelings first.
