That's what I call great acting. Even a trailer can tug at your heart

Great to see Glenda Jackson on screen again. She was an awesome actress. May she rest in peace.

Michael Caine is a Korean War combat veteran. I would not be surprised at all if the emotions from this film are both a mix of masterful acting and heartfelt sorrow for his brothers. It's beautiful.

We just held a little celebration for a friend who is 104 years old. It marked 80 years since he was rescued after his Halifax crashed into the Mediterranean on July 17th, 1943. He and 5 other crew members were rescued 9 days later. We asked him what kept him going, and he said hope. His pilot was 20 years old, and he landed the Halifax on the ocean, getting all the crew into the dinghy safely before it broke apart.

The crash site was 300 miles from the Italian mainland and 150 miles from the North African coast. After 212 hours, they were finally rescued by a British destroyer. A true hero and a gentleman.

90 years old and still acting. What a national treasure this man is.

I was living in Paris 25 years ago when my father made his first trip to Europe to visit.

He was in the 82nd and 101st airborne after WWII and was a historian who later taught high school history.

We went to Normandy and he walked the beaches and walked the cemeteries of The Allies but we were also humbled by the care and respect given German graves. They were just as manicured as the others.

Seeing him get lost in the history as we went from place to place to have his fill of putting all the pieces together.

We missed the last train back to Paris and had to sleep at the Bayeaux Hôtel de la Gare — a seldom used room in the attic of the brasserie at the station. It was an ancient building and we joked as we shared the old bed with what seemed to be a straw mattress and joked how this must have been how it was 50 years hence.

That trip was one of the dearest memories I have of him.

Miss you dad.

Every day.

Sir Michael Caine is such a great actor. He brought a tear to my eye just in the trailer. That is what makes a great actor. It doesn't matter that he is a superstar within a few seconds he brought the character to life and brought us with him.
This also looks like a great send-off for Dame Glenda Jackson.

Just when you think an actor can't give us another stunning performance, along comes Mr Caine and Glenda Jackson who knock it out of the park. I'm old enough to have memories of both of them in their younger years making box office classics. To see them still as strong in their twilight years is just heart-warming, sadly since, Glenda has passed away but Michael keeps working away doing what he loves doing. Legend.

I was in Normandy for the D-Day celebrations in 2014, and remember this story. I had the privilege to meet two D-Day veterans, one British and one American, getting to talk about their experiences for 40 minutes. It's a memory I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.

I loved the scene where the German veteran doesn’t even say the words “I’m sorry” but it’s implied and Michael Caine replies “me too” these unspoken moments and brilliant performance in every scene is why Michael Caine is a Legend

Micheal Caine once again showing how seemingly effortlessly he is able to evoke to strongest emotions. I really want to see this movie after watching the trailer and that is rare these days. It also looks like a great send off for Glenda Jackson too, an actress who always gave solid performances.

Michael Caine still making movies is incredible. I love that he chose to focus on this story as well; something meaningful.

I have spent the last 16 years going to church with Tom Rice, who passed away last year at 101. I had the privilege of jumping with him a couple times to honor his jump with the boys the night before DDay.

This movie sounds a lot like his story, EXCEPT, he never once talked about it being a waste! He was never sad about those he lost, he said the best he would see again soon.

He was (and I believe most definitely still is) a man of deep and cheerful faith. He taught me how to properly process my own deployments.

I was born in 1979.... and I've always been in awe of my grandads generation. The stories they told and the the horrors that generation witnesses during WW2. That generation never truly recovered from their experiences and I'm man enough to admit I'm typing this with a tear in my eye. Thank you Alfred Chapman and Charles William Ingham

If the trailer can bring a tear to your eye, imagine how you'll be by the end of the film! Looks fantastic, Sir Michael Caine is an absolute legend!

With it being based on the wonderful true story of Bernie Jordan, the fantastic cast and being so obviously filmed with love and compassion to all who fought it’s a winner, what a shame the fabulous Glenda Jackson is no longer with us. ❤

Two brilliant actors, Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson are a great double-act. And such a moving story. I cried at some parts of the film. It really gets to you.
And there is something moving and even awe-inspiring in seeing these two British icons together.
Rest in Peace Glenda Jackson 1936 - 2023. Aged 87. This was her final film.

My grandfather served in the RAF during WWII. He passed away on June 17th, 1996, when I was only 10 years old. As an adult, I feel a profound sadness at never having had the opportunity to understand what he did for his country and the world, so that I could express my respect for him, man to man, while he was still alive.
