Thank you. Had to laugh at myself - it took me awhile to understand what a 'grow lot' is. Grow light, lol. And I live in the south. Doh!

Mine flowers 2-3 times a year and I don’t hide it in the dark at all. It’s been in the family forever.

Thanks for the info. It should be helpful. I have a Christmas Cactus that I got from my grandmother, and she got it from her aunt. We think it is close to 150 years old. It's kind of spindly but it still blooms occasionally.

I was gifted one in late November and put it in my east facing window, It's now late August and it's till going strong with pretty much zero help from me. I just rotate it weekly and water it about once a week. I know this video is a bit old but it's one of the few I could find!

They are a fun addition, and as you mentioned, so easy to look after. I like the shape of their leaves.

actually darkness is not the key, its cool air, and that is a thanksgiving cactus, i leave mine out side in summer, in the shade and bring them in right at first frost, that is all you need to force blooms, and dont put them in to too much light, you loose some you wont, its trial and errror with these,

It's actually a Thanksgiving Cactus ( Schlumbergera truncata)! The True Christmas Cactus( Schlumbergera buckleyi) doesn't force or transport well & drops it's buds with changes in Temperatures, So Commercial Growers sell Thanksgiving Cacti as Christmas Cacti !!!

We've had our Christmas cactus for 17 years. However root rot has taken over. We're trying to propagate several cuttings as not to lose more than what we had. I think it lived its best life in the 10" pot but was never quite itself after I put it in a larger pot yet. I would like to propagate several cutting back into the 10" pot. In your opinion, how many cuttings can I start in one pot? Thanks in advance.

My holiday cacti all sit in a south facing window, about a foot back, and they are in constant bloom for months at a time...even out of season. The only euphorbia I own that requires darkness to bloom is the poinsettia.
