It's not rocket science, Sonic passively gets stronger with every game, so of course he'd be stronger in Frontiers than in Forces.

I'd even go as far as to say that Frontiers Super Sonic would kill his Forces era counterpart just by blinking in his general direction.

Let's also not forget, the reason that the Chaos Emeralds were never in the story was because, according to the Prequel Comic, the Phantom Ruby was so powerful it can nullify the Master Emerald which for some reason makes it more powerful.

If you ask me it's such a Bullshit Lazy Excuse.... Bullshit Writing, especially since we get a secret final boss in Mania and Super Sonic beat Eggman and the Phantom King while they were fighting over the Phantom Ruby, one of the attacks from Phantom King was able to hurt Super Sonic and knock 9 Rings out of him while the rest of the attacks for both characters just push you back. It was such a missed opportunity to get your Custom Character a Super Form.

I hated how the Chaos Emeralds had no role in Colors (except for the DS), Lost World, and Forces. What's a Sonic Storyline without the Chaos Emeralds and Super Forms involved especially since they've become a part of almost all the games plots since Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic Adventure.

I'm glad they brought it back for Frontiers, that game made Super Sonic shine brighter than any other game by far. I hope SEGA keeps using this Secret Super Sonic Boss plot point from here on out because Sonic storylines are just not the same without Super Forms or the Chaos Emeralds.
