I'm from Chicago, and I'll never view it as the best big city in the U.S I'm guessing those opinions came more from tourists than the locals of Chicago. High taxes, pothole-filled streets, political corruption, and of course violent crime rates during the summer have drove many Chicago residents away and will continue to do so.
