I'm a bit disappointed that Shusui didn't come at least second to Yoru. According to grades yes. But I think we all know there's more to black blade than forged with Haki. Also I think we all forgot that Black Haki armament coating is only a visual aid, it is an invisible armor. That's why we can't see it before it was established post time-skip. What I meant was that Monet would be dead if Shusui black blade was a permanent infused black haki.

There's probably a level of bond between user and the blade + unknown type of Conqueror's Haki infusion we're not aware of yet. I mean we didn't know Shank's wifi haki existed till recently.
