Setting aside the terrible invasion for a moment, in what way was the treatment of anti-war protesters in Moscow different from the treatment of anti-repression protesters in Ottawa? Apart, from the Ottawa paramilitaries being more brutal.
I won't take the rhetoric of western leaders about Putin's objectives or methods too seriously while the leader of El Salvador is on his own in condemning Trudeau.
The west has poked the bear for decades via the Baltic states and Ukraine: coups, supporting an anti-democratic regime in Kiev and pushing the nato line. Real anti Putin pressure would be taking the brakes off fossil fuel production in USA. It's marginally more moral to buy American oil & gas rather than that of Russia or Saudi, but only just. It would make prices plummet however. This would help end the war quickly and with less economic risk than blocking Russia from SWIFT.
Hypocrisy is now rampant, as it always is in the media politician and military threesome in wartime.

It's always the people who suffer in the end because of stupid government

In regards to Putin, Trudeau must be jealous.

Shock and awe that doesn’t seem to be happening… they are already at Kiev what more can they do 😂

Depends upon whether Russia can successfully install a puppet government and then withdraw. They don't have the military manpower to occupy a substantial portion of Ukraine for years. I think that Russia was hoping the Ukraine government would surrender quickly rather than have a prolonged war that drains resources rapidly

What are they thinking in the Kremlin?
Have you seen the Downfall parodies?

Why has OfCom blocked RT, unless they are afraid of the other side of the story becoming known!
If Zelensky had honoured the Minsk Agreement, stopped the ethnic cleansing of Donbas and introduced the reforms to allow the regions more autonomy, none of this would have happened. Instead, he sent another 40, 000 troops to attack Donbas, increased the bombing and shelling of schools and homes in Donetsk and Luhansk, who then requested military aid from Russia under Article 51 of the UN Charter. This is the result.

Haven’t seen any resistance from the Ukrainians. There should mined the roads into Ukraine. They should have massed their troupe on the border.

“Many people were predicting” is a lot like “ it is reported” very useful phrases to use if you have no clue of the truth or facts of the matter, and these phrases allow the speaker to back out of a corner by claiming someone else got it wrong. They would be more honest if they said “I don’t know”.

Probably got a few tips on how to crack down on protesters from watching Trudeau...

Whatever the issue it should be up to Ukraine and Russia to come to some kind of agreement no one else should intervene in this.
