Design Airline of Asia! China Airlines 777-300ER Business Class Trip Report

On my return flight from Japan, I was able to put the China Airlines 777-300ER through its paces and see why TheDesignAir rated the airline as the Best Design Airline in Asia. Just like the A350, this Business Class product is still one of the best in the skies.

Is this the best business class in Asia? This Taiwanese carrier certainly holds its own and the love-it-or-hate-it interiors are anything BUT boring for sure. The crew fantastic and the food which includes Michelin-starred dining was pretty amazing as well. So with comfortable seats, amazing food, great lounges, excellent service this long-standing Asian carrier is still worth checking out.

The airline, part of Skyteam usually has pretty competitive fares from Europe to Asia, and our return tickets were approximately €2,300. But the real standout was the airline's Signature Lounge in Taipei, although recent news from China Airlines states they plan on improving the 777-300ER product even further in the not-too-distant future! I will never understand why the likes of Lufthansa, United Airlines, Delta rank higher than China Airlines, especially Turkish Airlines ranking 7th when they operate a sh*tty business class 2-2-2 configuration, ugly cabin, their 1-2-1 business class in their 787 is underwhelming. Just because of a chef on board which is pretty much useless on board since he is not doing any warm cooking and Jose Mourihno is doing their advertisement ? And here amazing airlines like China Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Asiana Airlines and Thai airways rank so low on skytrax ?

the cabins are very nice! apart from this, i have totally different experiences. they are not nice.

service on board was a mixed bag of impeccable service and total disinterest and chaos. food was horrible so far. i don't know how you arrived at the lounge shown in your video. i am being sent to an apocalypcit basement lounge that is crowed, low quality and was of my most horrible loung experiences of recent memory. i also tried to very politely write to china airlines and make a few suggestions to improve the experience. response: zero.
