On a Bad Day a #Rapier Cuts Better than a #Saber...?

Don't jump to conclusions... This is just a funny coincidence. ;)

On that day I was feeling like garbage because I had caught a cold, but the mats were soaked, and test cutting had to be done. With some unusual results.

I manage to get good, clean cuts with the sabers too by the way, but many didn't go so well. The rapier meanwhile was surprisingly forgiving.

A rapier"s cutting power is always underestimated! It's a relatively heavier weapon with a long & quite sharp blade... It's fantastic for thrusts but can cut quite well!

Unless that was another model of cavalry saber, because I got debuffed for Perception.

You know, I was always surprised how much rapier to the arms hurt even through a fencing jacket... Seeing what a sharp one does to that wooden dowel, I'm no longer surprised.

I think you were cutting with the tip of the sabre, hence the weak cuts. You're doing much better with the rapier, as you seem to be using the correct part of it to cut. Good work! And take care!

Yes the thin blade was designed to be very sharp and more flexible as well as a bit lighter then say a kilij which was designed to use it's weight advantage to cut through bone, something the rapiers had a harder time doing.
