In the premier league or something I'd understand it but in non league, thry need that money if they're injured. They can't do bugger all else

Rarely does Cundy make a decent point but when he does he makes a good one.

The FA can't determine peoples sick pay etc, that will be determined by the individual contract signed with the clubs. Certain players have had things like pay as you play contracts for years and years.
Even if clubs attempt to enforce it, it will end up in court and the club will have to stick to the contract.

I can understand doing in the premier league cause players are in such good wage they won’t miss a lot I mean they will survive where as in non league wages are low anyway and this makes it worse

It’s non-league part time. Most of them players have full time jobs as well… people working in Warehouses get the same treatment, if you was to get full pay for 3 months people would abuse it unfortunately

This rule should only really apply to the Premier League logically speaking, simply due to the money involved. I look at players like Patrick Bamford at Leeds, who's injured more than he plays. That must cost them millions to the detriment of the club. Premier league players can go without pay for extended periods of time....non league players stand no chance financially if they're injured under this new rule. Pathetic by the FA.

still much better than contract stipulations overseas. you should ask carlton cole if he comes around. playing outside europe is very very difficult.

If a club doesn’t follow these new rules and at a later date falls into financial difficulties, for whatever reason, would the FA take a more hardline attitude to that club? I fear so, and potentially the club executive may fear so as well.

Why should footballers be different ?sounds generous to me

i heard years ago clubs had insurance for injuries. i don’t know much about it but thought it was a thing. my first thought was that obviously it’s a cost lower league clubs don’t want to pay for

Of course Macclesfield will come out and do that, they have a tv series and Robbie Savage behind them, they will see the pressure coming there way, what about other clubs with no money? How do they feel about it, because I’m guessing that’s why this has been done

Couldn’t clubs pool money to pay the injured players? Spreads the risk amongst all the teams

what do they expect if I get injured i only get 12 weeks sick pay - not full pay - after that I am on my own - this is how it is at every job in the Uk. I have no sympathy for football players.

It's called welcome to the real world if I'm off sick I only get sick pay it's called a part of life how about you talksport presenters pay there wages for them

Why the outrage? If 90% of population (who actually work) go on sick we get managers discretion or sick pay from day one so why is it different for someone who plays a game for a living? Clubs at that level don't have the income to pay players who aren't playing really do they.

Those rules should apply to the fat cats of the Premier League.
Shocking decision.
