I've noticed that since my adhd has been diagnosed and we've been treating it, my difficulties with defining and explaining emotions has gotten much easier. Sometimes I get too deep lol

I used to have more problems with this but 30 years of mental health treatment has helped.

Thank you, just knowing it has a name and is known.

Did she mean to say "turn your words into feelings" at the beginning? Shouldnt it be the opposite?

Dr Tracey Marks, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! Could you please talk about the brain and leadership? How we (can better) lead teams?

Thanks

It is called walking on eggshells to not enrage someone who would start a war. It is a consequence of being with energetically overtly aggressives.

Wow, there’s a single word to describe this problem. Now, how do we address this problem?

I Don have autism but suffer from ptsd. The most frustrating thing is anger and sadness it get blurred and it extremely hard to express the feeling even if it stem from anger and sadness like jealousy or annoyance. I find myself become an emotionless robot which comes off cold. But I don't know which emotions to use without feelings completely misunderstood(I haven't been formally diagnosed but Dr believe it can be a symptoms)

Could premature birth or learning disabilities also be included in this characteristic for alexithymia, or maybe only environmental.

I'm sorry "words into feelings" almost didn't make sense but then I was like "yes actually I don't feel things until it's way too late and I already have words for what the stimulus is that I should probably respond to" also people are terrifying, eye contact is worse.

Me, but I've been working so hard on it

I went mad a few years ago (manic) although I was exceedingly elevated I was also emotionally all over the place. With extremely powerful emotions all mixed up. I could tell someone (ie a probing head doctor) how I'd felt the day before. But saying how I felt in the moment was impossible. Too much information to sift through. Is that Alexei Thymia?

Is alexithymia more common now that people essentially live online these days? Body and facial expression seems to have diminished in public in my general experience

Or maybe it’s because your parents had no rage of emotion and whenever you experienced emotions they told you stop.
No wonder you don’t know what they’re called.
