Thank you. I am turning 65 in November.I am still working in my Union. Covered by Blue Cross Blue SheIld Is it a good idea if I take one of the advantage plans now? The kind you see on TV at no cost. I will be taking my insurance carriers supplemental plan when I do fully retire next July.

Does *everyone* who enrolls after 65+ get this letter asking for the "Declaration of Prior Prescription Drug Coverage"? Or is there some mysterious, secret information in the Medicare/CMS systems that leads them to believe that you have not had creditable coverage?

FWIW, I found it frustrating to try to handle this on the phone with the Part D Carrier. We felt like we were only being given the option of providing one "Name" so we gave them the name of the Prescription Drug carrier. We have no idea if there was a special plan name. If they (the Part D carrier? Medicare/CMS?) didn't find any evidence of our coverage before they sent the letter, I don't see how they are going to find support in whatever records they look into. Waiting, anxiously, to get the next letter assessing a penalty and having to jump through hoops to get it removed.

very lucidly explained. My employer has given me a creditable coverage letter and mentioned it needs to be submitted to Medicare for me to defer signing up after I turn 65. as I plan to continue working. Medicare referred me to SSA. It's not clear to me where this letter gets uploaded. I have seen references to form 10182-cc. But your video indicates I'll get notified of a penalty as soon as my Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) ends 3 months past my 65th Birthday and then can fill in the form they enclose in the letter. What is the best way to handle this?

Please help us!😢
My father became eligible for part A&B Medicare on 12/01/1998. He did not sign for plan D until two years ago. He did not live in the USA permanently until June of 2018. He had no idea about plan D until about 2 years ago. Off course he being penalized. What can we do? Please help us. Thanks

Nice and very informative video. Do someone with Medicare Part B and FEHB still need to enroll in Part D?
