Check out the most expensive pets in the world! This top 10 list goes from the most expensive dog on earth to exotic pets only the rich people can afford!

8. Bengal Cat
If you really, really, really love cats and have some extra thousands of dollars lying around, then the Bengal Cat is the pet for you! These expensive felines can range in colors from bright orange to a light brown, and they’re pretty majestic in person. They are known for being friendly and interactive and many people consider them one of the most “dog-like” cats out there.

7. Black Palm Cockatoo
I should clear something up before you decide to spend $16,000 dollars on this bird--it’s not very affectionate. They can be extremely sociable and they need regular interaction but it’s not meant to be for the average pet owner. Parrots and Cockatoos need a lot of special care, but if you are an experienced bird owner this particular breed may be the pet for you!!

6. Lavender Albino Python
Creepy, crawly snakes shouldn’t cost more than a car, but in the case of this rare genetically morphed snake it does! It costs a whopping $40,000 to own a lavender albino python all because of its pretty shade of lavender color with golden markings and ruby red eyes.

5. Stag Beetle
Interestingly enough, bug collecting is still quite the hobby. I’ll stick to the stamp collecting and baseball cards thank you very much, but to some this is one of the most rewarding things a person can do with their time.

4. Arabian Horse
These are probably some of the most well-known horse breeds in the world, and it’s no wonder they’re extremely expensive. The breed originated on the Arabian Peninsula and it is one of the most extraordinarily beautiful horses on the planet.

3. White Lion Cub
These white lions were created through a rare recessive gene making them albino, but before I go into how they became white, I should tell you getting a lion as a pet should not be taken lightly. Not only are they extremely expensive to keep but they need constant training as well as stimulation to keep them happy. Not to mention they are illegal in many places.

2. Tibetan Mastiff
I wholeheartedly agree with the statement food is the way to a man’s heart, but you know what else I agree with, money can’t buy you love, but it can get you a dog, which is basically the same thing!

1. Green Monkey
I’m not talking about a chimp, but a thoroughbred racehorse who sold for a world record price of $16 million dollars. The stallion ended up being a bust on the track sadly enough and was quickly retired. Green Monkey was a descendent of the world-famous race horse Northern Dancer and Secretariat. It seems he didn’t have the stuff to make him excel at the sport however.

My sister has been a dog owner since she graduated from college. Her current dogs are both mutts, but I think one of them is part bulldog and the other is some kind of herding dog.

A lot of the animals on this list either need a lot of reasurch (like the cockatoo) before getting one, or are frankly stupid to have as a 'house pet' - BigCatRescue have a large number of servals and hybrid cats idiots were sold from greedy backyard breeders thinking 1st gen hybrids can be kept in a house

Well.. A bengal cat can (and will) play fetch, but does our Scottish Fold we "found" on the cheap. Just a matter of getting lucky I guess...
