We start from number 8.
We add 10 and take away 2 (because 8 = 10-2 ).
We repeat every time, adding 10 and subtracting 2.
If you take a look at the units in the list below,
the units decrease by 2 every time (8,6,4,2,0,8,6,4,2,0).

2x8 = 16 6= 8 -2 note that 8 is the number of units in 1x8
3x8 = 24 4= 6-2 note that 6 is the number of units in 2x8
