Guys for me it fixed by plugging my iPhone in my PC and opening iTunes, if you have any updates there make sure you do them. Whilst it was updating I just opened WhatsApp web and then on my phone it started working! I think it just needed like a reconnection type thing. Try it, see if it works for you!
