We use the exactly the same kit we use at school all of our butterflies died but one was very special because it was not developed properly

We did this in elementary school and the day we let the butterflies go was so incredible! Because it was several classes worth letting them go all at the same time so just hundreds of monarch butterflies all around us!

I once had a butter fly pet ( two actually) and when they were in a cocoon, one of them them got out 1 day before the other and started messing with the another one and batting it around ( sadly the one that got out early died before we could release him 😔. Any way… the one in the cocoon that got batted around had part of her wing messed up and it fell off so we named her hope because she survived and when we let her out she was flying kind of lopsided but weeks later she went back to our house and she was flying really good than and it was so wholesome.

One day one I was younger I found a butterfly that looked like it couldn’t fly and so I further investigated it and I saw it was missing part of its wing, it was and eastern tiger swallowtail, I named it Twinkie and I got some watermelon and put it with him into a flower pot. Twinkie stayed alive for 4 days with me then one day I went back and he was missing. Rest In Peace Twinkie 😢
